171 Dune Road

The owner of this property initially approached First Dunes for a referral to a "stucco guy" to address large sections of EIFS that were delaminating and falling from the home. First Dunes subsequently conducted an investigation at the property and found that the EIFS was improperly installed and causing rot of the sheathing and potentially the structure.

First Dunes assembled a project team for a design build approach to this issue, teaming up with Ken Siegel AIA and providing technical and cost consulting to design and specify a scope of work where the existing facade was removed and replaced with a back-ventilated rainscreen, sheathing repaired while preserving the existing windows and without disruption to the interior finishes or occupancy during the project.

First Dunes successfully removed the failed EIFS facade, spot replaced rotten sheathing and installed a new ventilated rainscreen employing top of the line coastal products from Prosoco, James Hardie, TimberTech, Versatex and Viewrail, which both updated the tired design of the home and provided a durable wall system designed to last in the harsh conditions of an elevated home facing the Atlantic Ocean and open waters of Quantuck Bay.
